Adoption is a big step and commitment.

You've probably seen lots of cute photos and videos of birds dancing and doing cute things. Now you're thinking, "Hey, I want to have a pet with that kind of personality."

When it's good then yes, a bird is a pet like no other but there are the 'not so good' moments that you need to be aware of and prepared for. Here are some of the critical items you need to know BEFORE you bring your bird home.

Parrots have unique nutritional needs and it's not what most people think. You will need to be prepared to feed a well-balanced diet of fruits, tree nuts, vegetables, and (if you choose) pellets. This site will provide or point you to resources to help you understand dietary needs to make your own informed decision. Go to the INFORMATION page to read more.

Word of Caution: There are tons of FaceBook groups out there with self-proclaimed "experts." Please do your own research and discuss diet with your Avian Vet.
